Minuteman Press Uptown (MPU), located in North Minneapolis on Washington Avenue, was established in 1987.  Frank Brown, the current owner, purchased the company in March of 2015. They are a Union affiliated shop, drawing in customers from around the area who are primarily non-profits, political institutions, or part of the African American community.  Brown is proud of their Union status and their commitment to serving minority communities, particularly African American groups.  Minuteman Press Uptown is also a full-service print and marketing design company.  Brown says they are known for their customer service and connections to the community.

The first Minuteman Press opened in 1973 in Plainview, New York. There are now more than 700 locations in the US and across the world in Australia, Canada, United Kingdom, and South Africa. Minuteman Press has a current sales volume of 17 million.  Minuteman Press markets itself as a full service print, design, and marketing business, combining the “quality of a commercial printer with the ease and the quickness of an instant printer”.
